Oakley Woods hoops are made to exacting tolerances, providing players with consistent openings top to bottom. They measure 3-3/4" between the stanchions, from cross bar to ground. The 5/8" cold-rolled steel provides a smooth finish without the surface imperfections found in cast or hot-rolled hoops. All hoops, regardless of type or size are powder coated; guaranteeing the most durable finish possible. Because we control all aspects of the manufacture, custom sizes are available on request. Both tournament and Foxy wickets conform to USCA/CA specifications. Along with hoops, you will see the tools needed to set them in the ground with ease and precision.

The tournament wicket incorporates 4 welded fins to hold it firmly in place. The fins span 2 inches that aid in stability even in sandy conditions. Each set of 6 includes one hoop with a red crown and one with a blue crown unless ordered otherwise.

Designed for lawn bowling and tennis courts, these wickets leave a near invisible hole when removed. The upper section is identical to our tournament wicket with a 3/8" diameter rod below ground. Each set of 6 includes one hoop with a red crown and one with a blue crown unless ordered otherwise.

Play croquet indoors with our newest wicket design. Developed for use with a carpeted floor. The thick wall uprights fit snugly into a 3" tall steel pin welded solidly to a fixed width base. Conforming to Association regulations, the opening is 3-3/4". The base pins extend from under the carpet requiring only a small "X" at each hoop location. As with all of the Oakley Woods Croquet wickets, these are fully powder coated for the ultimate protection.

INSTALLATION NOTE: The base of this hoop is designed to be placed UNDER the carpet with only the upper section showing. Two small "X" shaped slits are required in the carpet to allow the base's pins to protrude.

Designed specially for indoor croquet courts. The upper section is identical to the Tournament wicket (above). Below the floor is a 3/8" rod that fits into a PVC sleeve that fits permanently into A concrete or wood floor. The floor insert protects the concrete or wood from the continuous stress exerted by the wicket when the ball hits it. The 3/8" pin hole in the floor insert is offset to allow adjustment of the hoop opening by simply turning the insert. Should the wicket become loose in the high density polyethylene, the sleeve can be replaced.

Designed for our Sport and Extreme sets, these recreational wickets were intended for the serious player on a budget. They share many of the features of its heavier brother, the winter wicket. It is made from 5/16" diameter steel rod bent to form a 4-1/2" opening. Like all of our hoops, it is powder coated for extreme longevity.

BAR HARBOR WICKETS

Replacement hoops that are included with the Paris Co. Bar Harbor and Scottsdale croquet sets. They are made from 1/4" powdercoated steel with a 5" opening and measure 11-1/4" tall. This is a typical upgrade from the lighter duty wire hoops.

Custom wickets are just a part of what we do. Some sets we have been commissioned to make include "Lobster Croquet" wickets; made for a couple smitten with this Maine variation of croquet. We have also made a set of extra large diameter winter wickets for a player with failing vision. Wickets can be specially made to suit your specifications. Getting wickets into the ground can be challenging - especially with larger wickets or dense soil (or clay). This dead blow mallet will make the task much easier while it's non-marring surface will not chip the finish on your wickets.

Not everyone has soft, well behaved soil to insert their hoops into For harder soils, the best mallet we have found (and the only one) for the job is this super-sized 5-1/2 pound dead blow mallet. Its bright orange soft faced handle and striking faces will not leave any marks on the hoops.

Getting hoops in the ground, especially set accurately is not an easy task - unless you clamp the hoop's stanchions (legs) to a fixed opening. This hoop clamp starts its life as a Vise-Grip clamp. We then modify the jaws to hold the stanchions and add an adjustable center that allows you to decide how wide the hoop should be set. It is made strong so as to take the brutal punishment expected when pounding hoops into unfriendly ground.

Now included with every hoop clamp is a convenient hoop gauge to accurately ensure your hoops are set to the regulation size. It measures both 3-11/16" and 3-3/4" openings quick and easy.
